Royals dealt a double blow
WORCESTERSHIRE Royals have been dealt a double blow just hours before their Twenty20 Cup opener against Gloucestershire Gladiators tonight (5.40pm).
Simon Jones and Gareth Batty have both been forced to withdraw from this evening game and they will be replaced by Stephen Moore and Chris Whelan.
Jones, who was set to make his Twenty20 Cup debut, is out with a virus and it's hoped that he will not be out for too long, while the news on Batty is slightly more serious.
The former England spinner picked up a calf strain in yesterday's match against New Zealand and could be out for 10 days.
Steve Magoffin, however, has passed a fitness test on a slight groin strain sustained against the Kiwis.
